A generously sized, unlined tote in sturdy cotton canvas, block-printed by hand in Jaipur with the Saras Crane motif. The Sarus Crane is India's tallest flying bird and a recurring figure in The Raw India's visual language — a symbol of the wetland habitats that thoughtful making helps to protect. Here it appears in warm ochre and rust tones across the surface of the bag. Practical, roomy, and quietly craft-forward.
- Block-printed cotton canvas
- Saras Crane motif all-over print
- Spacious open interior
- Sturdy cotton handles
Care instructions
- Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water
- Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent; avoid bleach and harsh chemicals
- Do not soak for extended periods
- Dry flat in the shade — direct sunlight may fade block-printed fabrics over time
- Iron on a medium heat on the reverse side
- Minor colour and pattern variation is natural to hand block printing and part of its character
Sustainability
Designed and made in Jaipur in collaboration with skilled local artisans. All block printing, hand embroidery and craftsmanship is done using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Small-batch production ensures that every piece receives individual attention and that waste is kept minimal.
About The Raw India
The Raw India is a Jaipur-based label rooted in the craft traditions of Rajasthan — hand block printing, embroidery, meenakari, lac work, leheriya and bandhani. Each piece connects directly to the artisans and techniques that have defined this region's creative identity for centuries. Raw, considered, and made with intention.
