Palash Vest Mango and Crane Embroidery

The Palash Vest is a structured, tailored silhouette in sturdy cotton canvas with a button front and front pockets. The embroidery is done entirely by hand in Jaipur: mango forms and Sarus Cranes worked in rich, saturated thread across the front and back in a dense, considered arrangement. Each vest takes considerable time to complete, and the placement of motifs varies slightly between pieces. Named for the palash, the flame-of-the-forest tree, whose vivid blooms appear across Rajasthan each spring.

Care instructions

• Hand wash gently in cold water or machine wash on a delicate cycle
• Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent; avoid bleach and harsh chemicals
• Do not soak for extended periods
• Dry flat in the shade — avoid direct sunlight which may fade embroidery threads over time
• Iron on a low to medium heat; avoid direct ironing over embroidered areas
• Minor variation between pieces is natural to hand embroidery and part of its character

Sustainability
Designed and made in Jaipur in collaboration with skilled local artisans. All block printing, hand embroidery and craftsmanship is done using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Small-batch production ensures that every piece receives individual attention and that waste is kept minimal.
