The Swamp Deer or barasingha, meaning twelve-tined, is one of India's endangered wetland species, native to the grasslands and marshes of northern and central India. The motif was drawn from field observations and hand-carved into wooden printing blocks in Jaipur. Block-printed on the flowing Bawari Skirt silhouette in warm, earthy tones, it creates an all-over pattern with a quietly naturalistic quality. Named for the bawari, the ancient stepwells of Rajasthan.

Care instructions

- Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent; avoid bleach and harsh chemicals

- Iron on a medium heat on the reverse side
- Minor colour and pattern variation is natural to hand block printing and part of its character
