The Loom Art

Founded in Jaipur in 2017 by Aarushi Kilawat, The Loom Art exists to revive two of India's most storied needle traditions , Kantha from rural Bengal, where women stitched layers of worn sari fabric into quilts of extraordinary beauty, and Sujini from Bihar, a dense narrative embroidery dating to the 18th century. The studio employs 20–23 in-house craftspeople on full-time rather than piece-rate contracts, and stocks internationally across India, the UAE, the UK, the US and Canada. Every stitch is placed by hand. Every piece is a record of the knowledge that placed it.
