Jodi

Gauri Verma and Karuna Laungani left their jobs at Elle India in 2014 because they wanted to make things, not write about them. What they built , Jodi, named for the twin siblings they both happened to have , is one of India's most celebrated handcraft labels: hand block printing with Shankarlalji's family in Jaipur, bandhani dyeing in Gujarat, hand embroidery across multiple Indian traditions. Limited quantities, made per demand, and never produced beyond the need.
